Rafael A. Serrano III began building his legal career early in law school, when he was selected by his legal writing professor to serve as a law clerk at a prominent family law firm in Monterey County. During his time there, Rafael gained significant hands-on experience dealing with a wide variety of family law issues as a certified law student, including working directly with clients, appearing at numerous hearings, and conducting a trial under attorney supervision.
Long before law school, however, Rafael developed a creative side rooted in storytelling and advocacy through film. During high school and prior to attending college, he was actively involved as a cameraman, director, and editor on various documentaries, commercials, short films, and feature films—an experience that sharpened his ability to communicate clearly, think creatively, and appreciate the human stories behind every case.
While in law school, Rafael demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, community service, and written and oral advocacy. He volunteered with the Domestic Violence Community Workshop, served as Vice President of his law school’s Student Bar Association, and was one of four finalists selected to compete in the law school’s Moot Court competition.
Prior to joining Minyard Morris, Rafael limited his practice exclusively to family law in both Los Angeles County and Orange County. His practice is now dedicated solely to serving family law clients in Orange County.
